(2019) SQL Server Database Engine Software Download and Install:
  •  Download "SQL Server on-premises" from the below link
    • https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/sql-server/sql-server-downloads
  •  Click "Download.exe", fill the form if it asks [use vinaytech Power BI account email address]
  •  Please select your SQL Server 2019 download, EXE download, 64-bit edition
    • Note: Go to "This PC"--> Properties and ensure your machine is 64-bit
  •  The below file downloaded in the download folder, click to install SQL2019-SSEI-Eval.exe
  •  Choose Installation type "Basic", Click Accept, Choose location to Install, Click Next
    • Note: For Power BI Classroom practice, this file is sufficient.
  •  Takes 3-4 minutes of time and install.
  •  Click "close" or continue to install SSMS[SQL Server Management Studio]
  •  Go to Services, verify SQL Server Instance [Ex: MSSQLSERVER] in running mode.
(2019) SSMS Software Download and Install:
    •  Download " SQL Server Management Studio" from the below link

    •  Choose-->Free Download for SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 18.12.1, Downloaded in download folder.
    •  Click SSMS-Setup-ENU.exe-> Choose path to install, click Install
    •  Post installation, go to search bar, type SSMS or Start up menu--> SQL Server Management Studio
( OLD ) Please use the below links to download software. You should install seperately these components.
  •  a) SQL SERVER DATA TOOLS
  •  b) SQLSERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO
( OLD ) SSDT INSTALLATION
  •  Click SETUP.exe
  •  Choose INSTLLATION->NEW STANDALONE INSTALLATION
  •  PERFORM A NEW INSTLLATION OF SQLSERVER 2016
  •  SQLSERVER FEATURE INSTALLATION
  •  FEATUE SELECTION -->ALL / REQUIRED COMPONETS
  •  SPECIFY INSTANCE NAME (Ex: Vinaytech)
  •  SERVER CONFIGURATION->SERVER TYPE-->AUTOMATIC/MANUAL
  •  DATABASE ENGINE CONFIGURATION->CLICK ADD CURRENT USER
  •  ANALYSIS SERVICES CONFIGURATION->CLICK ADD CURRENT USER

  • NOTE: CHOOSE REQUIRED MODE [ MULTIDIMENSIONAL / TABULAR
  •   REPORTING SERVICES CONFIGURATION->NATIVE MODE->FINISH
